The U.S. is home to some of the largest medical device manufacturers in the world, with an import of only 30%. Due to the large market size, the US remains by far the largest importer. However, in 2011 the major manufacturer, St. Jude Medical, moved its production outside of Sweden which will reduce export significantly. There is also high number of mid-sized companies with export potential.
