  1. How to Make Organic Vermi Beds for Compost for Farms? Organic farming has gained a lot of followers worldwide in the last decade or two. Many people are still adopting this technique of farming in their lives every day. The benefits of this way of growing your food are not only beneficial to your body but are also an eco-friendly way of consuming your greens. If you are new to organic farming or are a brand-new start-up who’s ready to make big in this business, it’s time that you invest in superior-quality Vermi Beds for making compost for your plants. What is a Vermi Bed? As the term goes, Vermi Bed is a product that’s sole job is to prepare vermicompost for your leafy friends. Now, vermicompost or worm-compost converts all your kitchen or biodegradable waste into useful manure, containing water-soluble nutrients. It elevates the quality of the soil by improving its aeration, water retention capacity, porosity, and so on.

  2. A Vermi Bed must be tough, light in weight, resistant to several acids and chemicals, fully waterproof, flexible, weatherproof, easy to handle and repair, and cost- effective. So, the next time you go searching for reliable Vermi bed manufacturers, look for these features in the product to strike a good deal. Ways to Prepare Your Own Organic Vermi Beds To get going with your organic farming, you need to have a Vermi Bed with proper vermicompost that enables you to grow healthy plants. Here are methods relating to how to achieve that- 1.Ready your soil -Usually in Vermi Beds, we find a thick layer of loamy soil of about 15 to 20 cm, dumped on top of a 5 cm layer of bricks and coarse sand. 2.Introduce the worms- After you introduce about 150 worms into the compost and they accept it as their home, dump fresh cow dung over the mixture of soil and sand. 3.Place the leaves-Either place agricultural biomass or hay or dry leaves, of about 5 cm, over the compost pit. 4.Maintenance of the pit- Do not use a plastic sheet to protect the compost, since it can trap the heat. Large leaves can be used to ward off the birds. The compost base must neither be too wet nor too dry. Water it for at least a month regularly to maintain its moisture. 5.Put a thick layer of waste: After a month, put a 5 cm thick layer of biodegradable waste or wet organic waste over the compost. Do this two times a week. 6.Constant checks: Check on the compost daily and water it every day. The waste matter can be turned over or mixed using a spade. 7.Rich in humus manure: The manure that will be prepared to use them within two to three months, will be rich in humus, moderately loose, lightweight, granular, crumbly, and dark brown. 8.Harvest: The vermicompost can be harvested at the time when there are earthworm castings (vermicompost) over the bed. 9.Stop watering: You have to cease watering the compost a couple of days before emptying the pit, to allow the separation of the worms. You should

  3. keep the compost under the sun to let the worms move toward the cooler base of the mixture. 10.Next cycle: After about three or four pit systems, you should stop watering the first pit because then the earthworms can by default move to the next chamber and facilitate the continuous cycle of harvesting. What is Vermi wash? After the composting space is ready, you must be vigilant that one side of the bag is 1 inch higher than the other side, which results in the microelements or the 12 types of nutrients not running down from the cow dung during rains. The slope assists in the accumulation of these nutrients. This process is known as Vermi wash. How to separate the worms? To separate the earthworms, meshes or sieves can be employed. The worms and the bulky material that become remnants on the upper layer of the sieve are recomposed. Conclusion Like the profession of Vermi bed manufacturers, vermicomposting and organic farming is gaining popularity, and it must be noted that it has fine economic prospects and can prove to be a powerful tool to uplift the underprivileged and underpaid manual laborers working in the cottage industries. Vermicompost can be made and resold in the markets which will not only bring in money but also will emerge as an exceptional means to increase the flow of organic and eco-friendly products in the markets.
