  6. Requested item appears on the home location’s ‘Hold PickUp List’. Hold PickUp List report runs Monday through Friday. Library searches for item. 3 searches are recommended for each item. Item continues to appear on ‘Hold PickUp List’ until found or marked missing.

  8. If item is found: Staff discharge item and place it on hold or in-transit to requested pickup location Patron sent pickup notice

If item is NOT found after searches: Library staff check to see if other copies are available and mark their copy as “missing” in WF If other copies ARE available at other locations: Request for item is transferred to next available location’s “Hold Pickup List”. If all available copies are checked-out: A checked-out copy is recalled If no copies are available: Library staff expire patron’s hold and patron receives an “expired hold” notice listing other options (PALCI, ILL, etc.)

  12. If all available library copies are checked-out: Recall Notice sent to patron. Patron has 10 days from the date the notice is sent toreturn the item to the library without penalty (reminder notice sent three days before recall due date)

  13. Patron does NOT return item: Patrons receive two overdue recall notices (first sent one day after due date) Patrons fined $3/day overdue recall fees, up to $30/max. Patrons billed for replacement and processing fees (in addition to recall overdue fees) after 30 days from the recall due date Library staff check for other available copies and transfer or expire hold

  14. Patron returns item: Library staff discharges item and places on hold or in-transit to pickup location Library staff at pickup location discharge item and place it on hold shelves Patron receives pickup notice and has 7 days to pickup item before it is removed from hold (reminder notice sent three days prior to deadline)
