Year Group Councils 2 Representatives Nominated From Each Class 16 Students • Meeting Once Every 2 Weeks • Year Head Attends • Chaired & Minuted By Students • Pupils Generally Bring Forward Their Own Issues Eg Toilets • Also Involved In Consultation Eg Pupil Movement • Issues Discussed Are a StandingItem On SMT Agenda

  5. The Pupil Forum 2 Representatives Nominated By Each Year Group Council • Meeting Occasionally • DHT Attends 10 Students

  6. The Captaincy Team Represents Senior Students Nominated Jointly By Students And Staff • Selected By Interview • Meet With Head Teacher Every Week 7 - 8 Students

  10. Some Limitations of the Current System • Operation Across Year Group can be Variable • Some Classes can be Slow to Nominate Representatives • Belief Amongst Some Students That Year Group Councils Are Not Representative Enough • Achievements Sometimes Not Sustained In The Long Term

  11. The Current Situation In The City Of Glasgow • Glasgow’s Secondary Pupil Council • 60 Students • Each Secondary School Nominates 2 Pupils • Meets 3 Times Per Year
