  6. Case No. 233 • Clinical History: This 23 year old white female was found to have a cervical lesion three months previous to this admission. A biopsy revealed carcinoma of the cervix. The uterus was removed. Preoperative radiation therapy is common today.

On physical examination, she has lower abdominal adnexal tenderness and a painful, swollen left knee.
