What Is ZOPE? • ZOPE is an open-source web application server developed by Digital Creations. • Allows customization thru web browser.(Zope Management Interface) • Uses ZPT (Zope Page Templates) and DTML (Document Template Markup Language) to present content. • ZOPE Products can be imported to enhance a website. The IDN site uses CMF and Plone.

  3. Content Management Framework (CMF) • CMF is a Zope Product used to quickly create websites – ‘portals’. • CMF permits: • Customization of site (its look and feel) through use of ‘skins’. • Site management so that submitted content from website member can be reviewed by website reviewer. • Viewing by general public of selected areas of the website.

  4. Plone • Plone is a Zope product that enhances CMF. • Biggest endorsement: current Zope site uses Plone. (http://www.zope.org) • Plone selected for its ability to customize a websites look and feel.

  5. Plone Setup • Member permissions • All IDN website members will be able to add & edit their own content; and add news items & upcoming event announcements. • Document status • Private: only owner has access. • Available: all members have access, but document will not show up in the search or navigation utilities. • Publish: public has access.

  6. Login Form • IDN members will need to acquire an account for the website through the GCMD staff. • After you have your username/password, login from: http://idn.ceos.org/IDN/login_form

  8. Steps To Update Node Status 1 2 • Each Node has been given a directory under Participants. Navigate to desired directory. • Change to Edit View • Update text as needed or upload a file containing your updates. 3

  9. Steps To Add A Document • Navigate to desired directory • Change to ‘Content View’ • Select document type and press ‘add new item’ button. 2 3 1

  10. Steps To Add A News Item • Navigate to your Node’s Directory. • Change to Content View • Select News Item and press ‘add new item’ button. • Enter item you would like to share. 1 2 3
