  1. MiniModule Roadmap

  2. MiniModule Strategy • Round out I/O support for SBCs and CPUs • LittleBoards • CoreModules • ReadyBoards • I/O which is not typically found on motherboards • Leverage partnerships to broaden family • Bring leading edge I/O to the embedded market • Keep our accounts away from CPU competitors • SBC/CPU business at risk • Raise the ASP at low- to mid-volume accounts • High-volume accounts typically consider semi-custom, custom, or COMs solutions • I/O card market has quietly grown to $40M worldwide

  3. I/O Categories • Communications / Networking • Ethernet, Serial • High-Speed Data • USB 2.0, IEEE 1394 “Firewire” • Flexible I/O • General-Purpose I/O (“GPIO”, “DIO”), Analog • Removable • PC Card

  4. The “New” MiniModule Family

  5. MiniModule USB2 • Provides USB 2.0 host root hub • 4 ports • Supports 480Mbps, 12Mbps, and 1.5Mbps transactions • Interfaces to PC/104-Plus interface (PCI 2.2) • Configurable for any of the four PC/104-Plus “slots” • PC/104 bus passed through to next card • Supports “hot” insertion and removal of devices • Standards-based (OHCI USB 1.0a, EHCI for USB 1.0) • Commonly used with storage or video capture • QuickStart Kit includes CD with drivers (Plug-and-Play) • ETT & CC options • Availability: Now

  6. MiniModule 1394 • 2 ports, each capable of 1 to 32 Firewire devices • Supports 400Mbps, 200Mbps, and 100Mbps transactions • Interfaces to PC/104-Plus interface (PCI 2.2) • Configurable for any of the four PC/104-Plus “slots” • PC/104 bus passed through to next card • Supports “hot” insertion and removal • Standards-based (OHCI 1394 1.0 & 1.1) • Commonly used with Firewire cameras • QuickStart Kit includes CD with drivers (Plug-and-Play) • ETT & CC options • Availability: Now

  7. MiniModule PCC III • 2 PC Card slots • Supports 32-bit (PC Card/Cardbus) and 16-bit (PCMCIA) cards, Type I, II, and III, 3.3V & 5V • Interfaces to PC/104-Plus interface (PCI 2.2) • Configurable for any of the four PC/104-Plus “slots” • PC/104 bus passed through to next card • Supports “hot” insertion and removal • Standards-based (CardBus Version 8.0) • Commonly used with ATA storage or WiFi cards • QuickStart Kit includes CD with drivers (Plug-and-Play) • ETT & CC options • Availability: Now

  8. MiniModule A2D • Manufactured for Ampro by Sealevel Systems • Two configurations offered by Ampro • Q-01: 8 A/D in, 2 D/A out, 12-bit resolution, 16 GPIOs • Q-02: 8 A/D in, 12-bit resolution • Flexible input ranges: 0 to +/-5V, +/-10V • 5 MHz track and hold • 100Kbps throughput rate • Outputs are 0 to 2.048V or 4.095V (jumper) • Used for data acquisition, industrial control • QuickStart Kit includes CD with Windows drivers • 0 to 70°C • Availability: Now
