Prepares interns to function effectively in the target position within the occupation

Appointments are Excepted Service under

Length of appointment (2-3 years)

Must qualify based on OPM Qualification Standards

GS-5 – Bachelor’s degree or 3 yrs general experience, 1yr general experience = to GS-4

GS-7 – Bachelor’s degree with “Superior Academic Achievement” or 1 yr specialized experience = to GS-5
