  4. 23 Credits to Graduate: Add it up . . . 9th Grade= 6 credits may be earned 4 credits Minimum to be a sophomore! 10th Grade= 12 credits may be earned 9Credits Minimum to be a junior! 11thGrade= 18 credits may be earned16 Credits Minimum to be a senior! 12thGrade = 24 credits may be earned 23 Credits required to GRADUATE!

AP = “ ADVANCED PLACEMENT” This is a COLLEGE-LEVEL COURSE BENEFITS: • Prepares a student for the rigor of college • In May, Students may take the AP exam ($95); many colleges grant college credit for specific AP test scores SHOULD I TAKE AN AP COURSE??? • Check pre-requisites; Talk to your teachers and parents • Some AP Courses require a contract or summer readings and assignments • Requires organization and self-motivation Make sure you want this; read the Course Commitment on the back of your Enrollment Card.

Use the BLUE form, which is stapled to your enrollment card CCEN at the TCC Riverside Aviation Center • Transportation and books provided; Discounted fees. • Courses occur during 1st and 2nd hours of the high school schedule • Students take two courses each semester (see Course Guide for list) • Enroll through the JHS Guidance Office

Other considerations when choosing your courses: Oklahoma’s Promise • Need-Based Tuition Payment Program for in-state colleges & universities • Income eligibility required • Required GPA/courses (College Preparatory Graduation Pathway) NCAA – College-Bound Athletes • Division 1 and 2 eligibility requires 16, pre-approved core courses(Not computer technology) • GPA & ACT requirements • Very technical!   39. Honors You May Earn: Distinguished Graduate -Earn a cumulative 3.50 GPA -No semester grade below a C -2 years of the same foreign language -Specific, rigorous courses are required, including an AP Course

  40. Honors You May Earn Distinguished Service Graduate Earn 200 volunteer service hours in high school. Minimum of 25 hours must be through a JHS club or organization

TS = “Teacher (Coach or Sponsor) Signature” Examples: Math, Athletics, Debate, Film, Orchestra, Marketing I have it! = you’ve been pre-approved; Write course on your enrollment card as 1st choice No ‘TS’ = You have to wait for try-out, or for your contract to be approved or prerequisite to be confirmed. List as an ALTERNATE CHOICE on thesame line as the class you want dropped
