  4. Objective: To improve responses when answering questions on language devices • Look at this Paper 1, Section A question ‘How does the Cosmopolitan magazine cover use language to attract an audience?’ • Now look at the following answer, supplied by a candidate

  5. The cosmoploitan advert uses words that start with the same letter. To stand out. And it is called the words no1 magasine for young woman so that it is made to seem the best. Some of the things that it goes on about might be right for people of its age like orgasms and work so this is for people who are older than me. The titles are short sentences and this is easy to read, because I dont like to read lots of things and I might get bored. Some of the things are funny like going to a stripping school. The title is at the top of the page and is red, which means that the magazine is about red hot stuff. And the blonde woman is on the front which means that if I read this magzine then I will be just like her. There are not any metafores or similies or any repetitions and it is using active sentences not passive sentences. And she is looking at the camera to give the impresson that she is looking at me and not any one else. Objective: To improve responses when answering questions on language devices
