  2. Alcohol and Drugs • It affects skills, judgment, reaction time, and coordination. • The harmful effects of mixing alcohol or drugs can lead to injury or death. • The best hunting comes from safe, sober, responsible behavior.

  3. Turkey Hunting • Turkeys are the largest upland game birds found in North America. • Turkeys can fly 50 to 55 miles per hour and run at speeds higher than 25 miles per hour.

  4. All Terrain Vehicles • Safe (ATV) users will follow all regulations about the registration and safe operation of of their equipment. • Many wilderness species of vegetation and animals are very sensitive to the mechanicalized travel. • When operating your vehicle, choose your paths wisely

  5. Trapping 1.Have landowners permission before trapping on their land. 2.Do not set traps in areas where farm animals or pets may be caught. 3.Make drowning water sets if you can. 4.Record trap locations accurately. 5.Put waterproof name tags on all traps.

  6. Trapping 6.Dispose of all animal carcasses properly. 7.Try to trap in areas where there is a surplus of animals 8.Promptly report diseased animal to wildlife authorities. 9.Support and help new trappers.

  7. Trapping 10.Know and follow all trapping regulations. 11.Support enforcement of all trapping regulations. 12.Dispatch trapped fur bearers in a humane manner.

  8. Hunting Dogs • They are used to find, trail, chase, point, or retrieve. • Specific breeds of dogs have been developed over centuries for particular types of hunting. • Dogs are better used in small game hunting.
