  3. What are the most important tools of mentoring? • Utilizing your experiences to relate to your mentees • Recognizing what is important to your mentee • Applicable Wisdom • Respect • Genuine Mentorship • Care for your Mentee

  6. What is the hardest part of mentoring? • Giving guidance and advice in the kindest way possible without crushing the mentee’s spirits. • Sometimes the mentee needs to hear something he or she does not want to hear. A mentor must help them hear it in a positive light.

  7. What is one thing you have learned from mentoring others? • I DO NOT HAVE ALL OF THE ANSWERES!!! • That is a hard realization for both the mentee and the mentor!

  8. what IS THE BEST PART OF MENTORING? • Seeing your mentee go from point A to point B through all the struggles in-between. • They grow and excel despite the challenges!

  9. Why is Mentoring important to you? • Because I’ve been a mentee!!! • I know how vital it was to me and my life. Why do you Mentor? Because I’ve been there! • working through all the struggles and challenges of life. • My mentors really helped me, so I want to return the favor.

  10. What I learned. • 4) Mentorship is not easy but it is worth it! • -It is like training a puppy! • 3) Mentorship is a little like parenting. • –Guiding them & telling them what they do not want to hear! • 2) Mentorship is growth. (for both the mentee and the mentor) • -They both learn something from the experience. • 1) A mentor does not need to know all the answers.

  11. What this means to me. • It means that I need to keep in mind what it is like to be a mentee before I can be a an effective mentor!

  12. What I can do with it. • I will be a mentor who has faults, but I will be a mentor who also cares. • I will be there for my mentee in the good times, but especially in the bad times. • I will be a celebrate my mentee’s successes ,but I will also help my mentee learn from his or her failures. • I will remember that I don’t know all the answers, and that is okay! • I will grow WITH my mentee!

  13. Thank you for listening!!!!!!
