  2. What is theater? • A theater is any type of play or performance, or any staged live event. • It can be acted out in musicals, puppet shows, circuses, operas, ballets, and other types of dance.

  3. All the rooms in a theater • Many types of stages including the one in our gym are used, backstage area, many dressing rooms, and 1,2, or 3 technician booths too get sounds and lighting on the stage.

  4. Jobs in theater • Some parts in theater include the director, the person in charge, the producer, who supervises and creates the play, stage manager, takes care of behind the scenes and special effects, set designer takes care of the background, property master helps with the props, lighting experts help with lighting, makeup artists and costume designer help with looks. Sometimes, puppet maker, designer, and operators, choreographer, musicians and composers are sometimes involved.

  5. Theater fun facts • First theater in 486 BC in Greece • Shakespeare played in the 1500’s. • New York city is popular for its theater. • Most common theater is drama.
