  2. Birthdate • Sam Morse was born April 27, 1791in Charlestown, Massachusetts • He was born to Jedidiah Morse and Elizabeth Ann Finley Bresse.

  3. Important details • His dad was a pastor • He went to college at the age of 14 • He was a painter and not just a inventor

  4. Sam’s life He lived in Boston, Massachusetts He also was a professional painter. This is one of his paintings

  5. Family • His first wife was Lucretia Walker • They were married until 1825 • His second wife was Elizabeth Griswold • He had 7 children , William, Cornelia, Samuel, Edward, Charles, James, and Susan Morse.

  6. Sam’s schooling • Sam’s started school at the age of nine. • He attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts . • At the age of 14 he attended Yale University.

  7. Death and more • Morse died of pneumonia in New York City, NY in April 2, 1872 • At the age of 81
