Tweet Grades • 0 points – is unprofessional or not completed by the due date • 1 point – does not fulfill the assignment directions: off topic, incorrect hashtags, incorrect Twitter handles, bad links • 2 points – does not express a complete thought or answer the full prompt • 3 points – has 2+ sentence errors when the writer had plenty of room to fix them • 4 points – has 1 sentence error when the writer had plenty of room to fix it. • 5 points – does an excellent job capturing a detail or insight.

  3. Know the difference between @ and # In @Connect, lets the person (or business or organization) know you have composed a tweet about him/her/it. Indicates a topic or trend, like #SuperBowl, #recipe, or #manup. Helps people find all the tweets on the hashtag subject.

  4. Never put spaces between the words that make up @s and #s! They are a continuous stream of characters with no breaks.

  5. You can use @s and #s in the same tweet, but you should limit yourself to 2 total.

  6. Tweet #1 • Twitter forces people to be concise. • Using your topic pitch note card, reduce the your pitch to the 140 characters that Twitter allows. • Use the hashtag #MyResearchEssay. • Be sure that your tweet captures the subject of your essay+your personal connection to it. • This tweet is worth 5 points.

  7. Tweet #2 • Go to twitter.com/enc1102tweets. • Choose Following, then follow all of your classmates. • Click on Timelines (a home icon). Here you can view all of your classmates’ tweets. • Read through the topics. Choose the best one. • Hit Reply. Then compose a tweet that explains why you like this topic best. You cannot vote for your own. • This tweet is worth 5 points.
