  1. The Brain • The brain can be divided into 4 major parts

  2. Structure of the Cerebrum Central cerebral hemisphere left and right part of brain. Join by corpus callosum. Convolutions are ridges on surface of brain. Fissure are deep sulcus (grooves) that separate the brain. i.e. longitudinal fissure separates left and right hemispheres. Cerebral cortex is (gray matter) layer that covers convolutions and sinks into fissure. It contains over 75% of all neuron cell bodies in the nervous system. Cerebral cortex is bellow and contains myelinated axons that connect cerebral cortex to other parts of nervous system.
