  1. Battle of Trenton • Americans looking to get revenge on the Hessians. • Cross the Delaware River to sneak attack the Hessians on Christmas night. • Surrounded and defeated them. • 83 Casualties, 896 Captured • Gave the U.S. soldiers hope, when some were starting to think we couldn’t win.

Battle of Saratoga • Sharpshooters took out most of the British officers before the battle. • Americans attack with their army when the British are lost and confused • Benedict Arnold is the hero of the battle. • Americans win. • The win convinces the French that the Americans have a shot at winning with their help.
