The Visit: Thursday 8th July • PERIOD 2: An Audience with Steve Voake • all of Year 8 • Writers of the Month from gryphonwriters.co.uk • specially invited guests. • PERIODS 3 and 4: Writing Workshops • Competition winners and those shortlisted will have a buffet lunch with Steve. • Afternoon registration: Steve Voake will sign books – if they have already been bought from the LRC.

  4. PRIZES! 1st: Writing Course at Kilve Court 2nd: £40 vouchers 3rd: £20 vouchers

  5. Also… a Goody Bag for writers who produce 101 words EXACTLY… the six shortlisted finalists will receive a signed Steve Voake book of their choice plus an invite to the buffet lunch with the author on the day of the visit, 8th July and…

  6. and… the best of the submissions will also be made into a real book – a collection by our talented young writers.

  7. What you need to do: • You will be studying parts of some of Steve Voake’s books – you should try to read a whole book before he comes – Mr Bull has lots in the LRC. 2. You need to have a question prepared in your Year 8 class for Steve to answer during An Audience with Steve Voake. 3. You should enter the competition.

  8. Flash Fiction What do you think Flash Fiction is?

Your Competition Entry: • Flash Fiction is a genre that delivers a story using a very small number of words. • Your entry should be super short – IF you can get it down to EXACTLY 101 words, then you get a Goody Bag! • Your entry must be: 101 words OR 301 words OR anything between. • It can be on any subject. • You must email it to your teacher so that they can choose the top few in your class to forward onto Steve Voake.
