What is a Renaissance man? • A renaissance man is a person who is skilled in many different areas. • Leonardo Da Vinci is considered a Renaissance man of the past and is best known as an inventor, architect, painter, and artist. • A modern day Renaissance man is Steve Jobs. He is known for being a designer, businessman, and inventor.

  3. Leonardo Da VinciEarly Life • April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519 • Leonardo Da Vinci’s name means Leonardo from Vinci since he did not have a surname. • He was a vegetarian • He also loved animals. He would actually buy caged animals and set them free.

  4. Leonardo Da Vinci The Inventor • Da Vinci is recognized for inventing the first plans for a paraglider, machine gun, and helicopter.

  5. Leonardo Da VinciThe Painter • Leonardo Da Vinci is recognized as the greatest painter of all time. • 1480’s-Virgin of the Rocks • 1490’s-The Last Supper • 1500’s-Mona Lisa

  6. Leonardo Da VinciThe Artist • Leonardo was interested in the body and how it functioned. • He drew many pictures of the body after studying it.

  7. Steve JobsEarly Life • February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011 • Steve Jobs was born to two university of Wisconsin graduates, Abdulfattah Jandali and Joanne Simpson, who set him up for adoption. • At birth, he was adopted by Paul Reinhold Jobs and Clara Jobs.

  8. Later life • When he went to high school he met computer club genius Steve Wozniak. • In 1974 he took a job as a video game designer at Atari. • Several months later he went to India to reach or achieve spiritual enlightenment.

  9. The Beginning of it All • In 1976 he paired up with Steve again to make the new beginning of apple computers.

  10. Renaissance Men Past and Present • In many ways Steve Jobs and Leonardo Da Vinci are alike.
