A storm is keeping planes and trains from bringing medicine to Nome. The medicine is in Anchorage, which is 800 miles away from Nome. Gunnar Kasson couldn’t see through the snow to guide his dog team. While the team is traveling across the ice, the ice starts to break. The storm causes Gunnar’s team to miss the next town.
