  1. How to Blog – The Right Way Good Blogging, made easy. Do yourself a favor and learn. Paul Nix – CSR 309

  2. What does a good Blog entail? • Content • Must be well written • Must be coherent • Must have an element that draws the reader in, a “POW” • Must relate to the content in which it elaborates on, if it is in fact a Blog dedicated to analyses

  3. What does a good Blog entail? • Structure • Must follow the direction in which the content was presented • Must allow the user to experience what was presented, even if they were not present during the lecture

  4. Let’s look at an example… Here’s an example of a great Blog entry. This particular entry was created by Tyler Nunnally. It is an analyses of a speaker that presented in CSR 309 – Kirk Weisler. As you can clearly see, the Blog is well written, provides good descriptions and analyses of the event, and draws the reader in with effective writing and content.

  5. Here is another example… Here is another great example of a solid Blog entry. This particular article analyzes a lecture revolving around time management. The content is coherent, well written, and follows the material presented in the lecture to a “t”. Tyler Nunnally knows how to write interesting and effective Blogs.

  6. Improving upon what’s already a step above the rest. Although Tyler’s Blog is better than most, there are some points where he can improve upon his writing, let’s look at a couple of examples of how we can improve upon the entries shown earlier…

  7. The Kirk Weisler Blog entry… Here’s the first sentence of the first Blog entry evaluated – the Kirk Weisler entry. A good idea, however the execution leaves a bit to be desired. A more appropriate first sentence could be: “Throughout high school and college, the majority of the speakers that presented to me were unfulfilling.” This is a path that Tyler could have taken to improve the first sentence – a critical sentence to a written article – of his Blog.

  8. The Time Management Blog entry… Here’s the last sentence from the second Blog evaluated – the Time Management Blog entry. Again, Tyler has another good idea present in this Blog entry. However there are numerous aspects that can be improved upon. Here’s a road he could have taken: “Do not waste your time; wasting it on sleep can cut down on what you can get done – making you less successful.” Corrections like these can made intermittently throughout Tyler’s Blogging. His already good entries can be taken to the next level if these changes were to be made…

  9. Conclusion • Tyler Nunnally’s Blog is good, overall • Some corrections regarding grammar and sentence structure are needed • Tyler’s Blog can be visited at: http://tnunnally.blogspot.com
