  2. The AQB • ‘Additional Question Bank’ compiled by HSDU, now available from LT Scotland: http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/nq/res...bank4972.asp • Full content of Higher papers from 1989 to 1999, complete with marking instructions • SQA recommends that teachers use the bank when preparing prelims

Problems with the AQB • Full printed set has more than 250 pages • Finding the right questions can be time consuming • Search through a 20-page list of questions, looking for a certain Content reference • Find the relevant page to see the actual question – is it better than the one before? • Hard to save questions for later use

  4. AQB Explorer • A new web-based tool • Question details are stored in a database for fast searching • A free part of HSN extra, a service which provides online resources for Maths teachers

  5. How can AQB Explorer help? • Searching Simply enter some details, then browse a list of matching questions • Storing Add questions to personal lists for later use • Organising Decide how to order questions within the lists, and choose a layout for printing

  6. Searching • By Unit, Outcome or Content Statement • Set a range of marks • Choose the type of marks (calculator, A/B, etc) • All matching questions are then shown below

  7. Storing • Questions can be added to a set of personal lists • These could be used to store questions for use in prelims, or revision exercises

  8. Organising • Questions can be rearranged within lists using a drag-and-drop interface • List contents can be downloaded in PDF format, with three layout options • Printed lists are ideal as extra exam practice for pupils
