  1. FASAP Misdemeanor Services MONITORING SERVICES FOR DISTRICT COURTS & LIASON FOR DMV

CLIENT INTAKE • Has a current or pending criminal justice misdemeanor case or • Is self-referred for Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) license reinstatement purposes • Client intake begins at initial client contact or upon receiving documentation ordering client to report to ASAP, whichever comes first.

  3. How are clients referred to ASAP Judgments set forth conditions imposed by the court when individuals are sentenced. ASAP must review judgments in order to: Verify ASAP or alcohol screening has been ordered for the client, and Identify which ASAP office the court has ordered the individual to contact.

  4. Self Referral Clients • Can start the ASAP process before being ordered to do so by the court. • Additionally, an individual may elect to reopen a case that has been closed by the court or prosecutor, due to non compliance or the expiration of probation. • In either case, most self referrals usually come to ASAP in order to reinstate their drivers licenses, which have been revoked for a DUI, refusal or other related driving offenses. ASAP must obtain legal paperwork providing a case number & circumstance for revocation.

  5. Screening • Based on classification, ASAP will refer client to appropriate education or treatment agency. • Assignment sheets are signed and RELEASE OF INFORMATION are signed at this time.

  6. STATUS REPORTS • Status requests are issued to the agency or agencies that the client is working with. • Upon completion ASAP issues Completion Letter to Court & DMV Cover Letter.

  7. NONCOMPLIANCE • Client fails to follow through with his or her assignment, the agency must send ASAP report detailing noncompliance. • Once a client has been discharged non compliant, it is his or her responsibility to contact the ASAP office to request reassignment. • ASAP will determine whether the client is eligible for reassignment.

  8. If the client is not eligible or fails to contact ASAP by a given date, then the ASAP office should file a noncompliance affidavit. • It is extremely important that any reassignments occur through the ASAP office. This will eliminate a client from being arrested or having an outstanding bench warrant when he or she is in compliance with ASAP requirements.

  9. COMPLETION • When a client has completed ASAP requirements a Letter of Completion is sent to the assigning District Court & the District Attorney’s office. • A DMV Cover Letter is also generated should this be needed.
