  1. BUSINESS ETHICS DISCUSSION DOMINATES SECOND SESSION OF 5TH AIBUMA CONFERENCE,SOB Second day of 5TH AIBUMA Conference had the subject of business ethics being discussed at length. The keynote speakers were; Eng. Chris Oanda, National Chairman Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM), Mrs. JyotiMukherjee, CEO Software Technologies Limited and Mr. John Njiraini, Commissioner General KRA. Eng. Chris Ochanda emphasized on the relevance of transparency in the practice of procurement and supplies management in Kenya, noting that it plays a vital role in the growth of emerging economies. He also advocated for accountability on the part of employers and employees in the supply chain. His sentiments were echoed by Mrs. JyotiMukherjee, although in an inspirational approach. She reiterated that, above all, ethics should not be a decorative piece of report in our financial statements but rather a fundamental thread of our lives. That notwithstanding, she challenged women to take up responsive roles in the business sector. On his part, Mr. John Njiraini expounded on the essence of being committed to paying taxes since it is fundamental in steering the growth of any nation. He encouraged all the stakeholders to view the practice of taxation positively and ensure that those they elect to manage public coffers are accountable.
