  1. NEW QUANTEC FUNCTIONS AND ENHANCEMENTS Available July 2010

  2. USER ID • Allows infrared transmitters and neck pendants to be programmed with a unique User ID (1 to 255) and a 16 character custom name • User ID information shown on all relevant displays (Attack > Nurse Smith). Alternatively, the system can be set up so User ID is logged in Surveyor only • Can be used to highlight staff training issues (i.e. too many attacks on one person may indicate an aggressive member of staff) • Initial programming requires a QT423 configurator (authorised users can update names at a Quantec controller) • Allows a number of other new Quantec functions to be implemented…..

  3. ATTACK TRACK FUNCTION • Allows Quantec to ‘track’ the course of an Attack generated via an infrared staff attack transmitter with User ID • Quantec analyses the transmitter’s ID and only shows the last activated receiving device (i.e. the current location of the attack) on Displays • A full record of the attack, showing all activated receivers and the order in which they were triggered, is logged in Surveyor (can be used as evidence in courts, etc).

  4. STAFF ATTENDANCE PENDANT • Allows nursing/security staff entering rooms to log their Attendance via IR call points/ceiling receivers • Call points momentarily flash to indicate a registered call (Attendance calls will NOT show on displays but will be logged in Surveyor) • If programmed with a User ID, managers can monitor which staff are performing their duties (helps prevent staff sleeping on the job, etc) • Typical transmitting range = 10m line-of-sight (IR) and 60m (RF) • Replaceable 12V 8LR50 battery provides 6-12 months operation (battery low indication provided in Surveyor if User ID is used) • Can be reconfigured to generate a Standard, Presence/Reset toggle, Help Required or Reset call using a QT423 configurator.

  5. PATIENT NECK PENDANT • Allows patients to remotely trigger Standard calls via IR call points/ceiling receivers and radio receivers • Ideal for individual bedrooms and/or communal areas such as lounges and gardens • Can be programmed with a User ID and custom name so staff can see which patient is calling • Typical transmitting range = 10m line-of-sight (IR) and 60m (RF) • Includes an anti-ligature lanyard and confidence LED for call confirmation and battery low indication (battery low indication also provided in Surveyor if User ID is used) • Can be reconfigured to generate a Presence/Reset toggle, Help Required or Reset call using a QT423 configurator.

  6. ENSUITE CALL LEVEL • Allows slave devices such as ceiling pulls in bathrooms or shower rooms to generate a distinct ‘Ensuite’ call level • Ensuite calls are flagged at the same call level as Help Required calls • Ensuite devices must be connected to an appropriately programmed slave connector on a new-style Quantec call point…

  7. PROGRAMMABLE CALL POINTS • Now have programmable ‘CALL’ buttons, ‘RESET’ buttons, remote sockets (if fitted) and two programmable slave inputs • CALL buttons, remote sockets and slave inputs can be programmed via a QT432 configurator to generate specific call levels (standard, ensuite, help required, emergency or attack) • For example, a call point’s ‘CALL’ button can be set to make an Emergency call on its initial activation, a slave ceiling pull can make an Ensuite call, a slave panic button can make an Attack call and a tail call lead can make a Help Required call, or any other combination • RESET buttons can also now be programmed so they bypass the Presence call level.

  8. QUANTEC NETWORK x3 x3 CALL, HELP REQUIRED EMERGENCY, ATTACK, PRESENCE, RESET OR ATTENDANCE (VIA TRANSMITTER) CALL, ENSUITE HELP REQUIRED EMERGENCY OR ATTACK x3 OPTIONAL REMOVAL OF PRESENCE INITIAL PRESS = CALL, ENSUITE HELP REQUIRED EMERGENCY OR ATTACK CALL, ENSUITE HELP REQUIRED EMERGENCY OR ATTACK CALL, ENSUITE HELP REQUIRED EMERGENCY OR ATTACK

  9. QUANTEC NETWORK x3 CALL, HELP REQUIRED EMERGENCY, ATTACK, PRESENCE, RESET OR ATTENDANCE (VIA TRANSMITTER) x3 CALL, ENSUITE HELP REQUIRED EMERGENCY OR ATTACK

  10. CUSTOM-SITE NAME • Allows engineers (or authorised users) to assign a custom site name of up to 16 characters to Quantec displays • Names can be programmed into the system via the QT707 programming software or at a Quantec Controller

  11. MORE ADVANCED PAGING • Quantec’s call messages can now be routed depending on:- • Area of origin (26 options/cap codes) • Type of call (6 options/cap codes, including Presence and Reset) • Day/night (2 options/cap codes). • Paging displays will show the location of the call, the level of the call and (if relevant) the User’s ID • An optional re-paging function is also available • Cap code set up is via the QT707 Programming tools

  12. DECT CAPABILITY • A new feature allowing call messages to be directed to third-party DECT telephone systems • Compatible with MEP (Multitone) or ESPA protocols • Output options are as per Quantec’s updated paging functions. • DECT capability can be added to existing Quantec systems by updating the Quantec Controller • Programming is via the QT707 Programming tools • Multitone can advise on compatibility/interfacing issues

  13. IMPROVED SURVEYOR SOFTWARE • Can now be interfaced and take data from up to four Quantec controllers via 4 serial ports. (All controllers must be located within 30m of each other). • Now logs user ID data, Attendance calls and transmitters/pendants with low batteries.

  14. OTHER ENHANCEMENTS • Corridor Displays now include a slightly louder buzzer (plus a link allowing the buzzer to be disabled). • Call points with call follower sounders can now be programmed so their beepers operate in day mode/locally and night mode/globally. • Master IR Receivers now have a programmable slave input (for the optional connection of slave panic buttons, etc)
