  1. Comparison Between Mini C-Arms and Full-Sized C-Arms

  2. Introduction to C-Arms • C-arms such as OEC 9800 are medical devices used for diagnosis procedures. • Common procedures involved are surgery, vascular surgery, body diagnosis and x-ray imaging. • They come in either full size or mini size, as discussed in detail in the following slides.

  3. Mini C-Arms • Mini C-arms are toned-down versions of regular c-arms. • They have their c-arm attached to the imaging table. • Their functions are somewhat different to the regular c-arms and are usually used in small healthcare clinics and hospitals.

  4. Full-Sized C-Arms • These are regular c-arms that are used in big hospitals with lot of space. • They perform much more diagnostic procedures than mini c-arms. • They have the c-arm and imaging table separated from each other.

  5. Mini C-Arms vs. Full-Sized C-Arms • One of the confusion of c-arm buyers is whether to purchase a mini or a full-sized one. • Due to smaller size, mini c-arms might seem like an attractive proposition. • But they have their own sets of limitations, making them useful only in limited scenarios.

  6. Advantages of Mini C-Arms • They occupy less space and cost less, making them a great choice for clinics/hospitals with limited space and budget. • They can be used for effective studies of hands and feet-their most common task. • They pack a lot of features in a small package.

  7. Advantages of Full-Sized C-Arms Such as OEC 9800 • They can carry out a wider range of tasks than mini c-arms. • They can be used for full body diagnosis and studies. • They are easily available at lower costs as used c-arms.
