Chandra Science Workshops • 2-3 day workshop, ~100 participants • Once/year in summer, in Cambridge • Organized by moi for CDO • Goals are to focus Chandra science by • identifying the most pressing scientific questions in an area and • debating good Chandra strategies to answer them.   6. 2N Years of Science with Chandra • 3 day conference, once/year in the Fall • Covers all Chandra science topics, some instrument/programmatic topics • Organized/hosted by CXC or MSFC • Two Years of Science with Chandra, D.C., Sep 5-7, 2001 • Four Years of Chandra Observations: A tribute to Riccardo Giacconi MSFC, Sep 16-18, 2003 • Six Years of Science with Chandra, Cambridge, Nov 2005 (Antonella Fruscione) CUC Meeting

CIAO Workshops • 2-3 day workshop, once/year • Introductory and advanced talks on X-ray data analysis and statistics • Talks on calibration and aspect issues related to data analysis • Advanced sessions on specific topics: grating analysis, extended source analysis, etc • Hands-on data reduction • Organized by SDS (Elvis, now McDowell) • 5 so far, time of year varies.   8. CAL Workshops • 2 day workshop, once/year, Fall @CXC • Organized by Hank Donnelly for CAL • Comprehensive discussion of calibration topics by CAL and other CXC scientists CUC Meeting

X-ray Astronomy School • For grad students & recent postdocs • Co-sponsored by CXC, GSFC, USRA • Fall 2001 (GSFC), 2002 (Berkeley Springs, WV), 2003 (Wallops Island, VA) • Lectures review • science of x-ray-emitting celestial objects • production mechanisms • detectors & technologies • data analysis (spectral, imaging, and timing analysis).
