  • To foster a love for Spanish culture and language

  • Prepare students for Spanish II, either regular or honors

  • Finish 4 units (each unit has 2 chapters so in reality, 8+1 chapters) H:\World Languages\Avancemos\SPANISH 1 PACING GUIDE Avancemos 2013-2014 without notes.doc

  • Have fun!!!!


Grading
Grading

  • 20% Homework (not too much in the beginning, but should expect something every weeknight (no weekends) H:\World Languages\Spanish stamp and grade sheet.doc

  • 25% tests/projects (usually 1 per mp)

  • 35% quizzes (given each Friday)

  • 20% class participation & preparation

  • www.Dictionary.com Sign up for the Spanish word of the day. I accept Monday-Thursday’s words for extra credit.

  • Salsa Fridays ~ salsa and chips every other Friday as long as class behavior allows. Sign up sheets

What can you expect from me? remember a thing…how can I help my child!

  • I will prepare materials and activities for class to generate enthusiasm for learning.

  • Develop a relationship with your child. I’m a mommy too, so I know they are your whole world
