Check your instructions. Demonstration not explanation YL won’t understand wordy explanations. Thus focus on demonstrations or ask a stronger student for help. Rules and routine Create a set of rules for your class to follow and be strict about them. Getting the students’ attention Use sound making objects – whistles, rattles, toy guns...

  9. Some Ideas on Classroom Management Praise and rewards Praise all the time for the smallest things they do. Use verbal praise or stamps, draw suns, give stickers. Never stoop to bribery. Teacher’s position in the classroom Walk around to maintain students’ interest. Fast Finishers Always have something prepared for them as if they have nothing to do, your lesson can easily get spoilt. Problematic students Praise them for any positive thing they do and make them your ‘elves’. Positive attitude Smile, hug and love your students and they will love you in reaturn 

  10. Key issues to keep in mind: Check your instructions Demonstarte and illustrate instead of explaining Don’t be afraid to look and act silly
