  2. Students, fellows, associates …. At CERN there are several training programs. The main differences are: • Initial academic level • Timing/link and quota constraints • Duration of the engagement • Selection process

  3. Students Students are persons linked to a University that haven’t yet finished his/her studies • Stagiaires • Technical students • Doctoral students • Summer students • ASP (case I) • Apprentices (no access to the program) • Administrative students (no access to prgrm)

  4. Students: Stagiaires Profile Studies at university level (but not required) Duration of the stay at CERN Less than 12 weeks (extensions allowed up to 5 mths) Period Any time Field Any Subsistence 0 CHF for periods shorter than 8 weeks. 300 CH/week starting at the ninth week

Students: Technical students Profile At least 18 mths of technical undergraduate studies Duration of the stay at CERN From 6 to 14 months Period Selections on April, September and December Field Computing, electrical, electronic, mechanical and civil engineering, safety and environmental protection, cooling and ventilation … Subsistence 3100 CHF/month. First 6 month covered by divisional quota. From the 7th month by the group

Students: Doctoral students Profile Enrolled on the doc prgrm of a CERN MS university Duration of the stay at CERN 2 years + 1 year extension Period Selections on April, September and December Field Computing, electrical, electronic, mechanical and civil engineering, safety and environmental protection, cooling and ventilation … Subsistence 4100 CHF/month. First 6 month covered by divisional quota. From the 7th month by the group. Exc Austrians

Students: Summer students Profile At least three years of full-time studies Duration of the stay at CERN 8 to 13 weeks, from June to September Period Selection on March Field Computing, electrical, electronic, mechanical and civil engineering, safety and environmental protection, cooling and ventilation … Subsistence 81 CHF/day covered by divisional quota
