  7. Weakness • A very new organization • Reliance on one particular individual • Complicated organizational framework • Organization’s desires are myriad • But individual capabilities in terms of information and physical resources are limited

  8. Strengths • Members’ passion and enthusiasm for the organization’s projects, both current and proposed • Relative smallness of the organization lends itself to a personality-oriented leadership style • Clear admiration for their leader’s work ethic translates into more effective involvement from the members • Members have little to work with Greater motivation and passion for the organization’s ideals • Virtually assures the full cooperation of members

  9. Analysis of Issues and Generation of Alternative Strategies/Programs

  13. TOWS Analysis

  14. Analysis of Issues • The scope of their as-yet-unstated vision has a broad theme • To address individual economic and social stability of members • Lack of capability to address needs at an individual level  strength in numbers • Relatively weak capabilities of individuals in terms of resources • Need to include individual member concerns in addition to those of the larger group • Philippine situation of widespread poverty as backdrop to situation • Need for massive scale interventions

  15. Analysis of Issues • Lack of economic stability • Microfinancing as an option • But knowledge and actual availability of such alternatives are limited • Limited opportunities for sponsorship • Lack of security • No permanent residence, no land • No assets • Government social housing project opportunities are too few • Struggles in negotiating the partisan nature of local politics

  16. Analysis of Issues • Health • Poverty makes it difficult for them to make this into a real priority • Lack of health knowledge from poor educational opportunities • Preponderance of both infectious and non-infectious diseases in their community • Private healthcare is unaffordable to most of them • Unresponsive government-provided healthcare system

  17. Analysis of Issues • Address internal factors • Define what it wishes to do in terms of its VMO • What will the organization do in the long run? • The leader should have plans in place for transition of responsibilities • The group should also focus on ways to generating sustainable income

  18. Possible Programs to Address the Issues • Fundraising for A Community Center • Microfinancing and Entrepreneurship • Multipurpose Cooperative • Health Education Programs
