  3. History • India had earned freedom from the British on August 15, 1947. • Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh were once a part of India. • Sri Lanka parted from India in 1972. • Pakistan parted from India in August 14, 1947. • Bangladesh parted from India in 1971.

Religions Practiced In India • Sikhism ~ Worship one god and believe everyone is equal • Hinduism~ Worship more than one god and goddess • Muslims~ Believe in one god • Christianity~ Believe in one god, Jesus Christ, angels, and devils • Buddhism~ Believe in one god and Buddha • Jainism~ Believe in one god. Everything in the universe is eternal.

  6. Mendie (Henna)‏ Mendie is like a temporary tattoo that comes from a crushed plant. If you buy it at stores in liquid form it willmost likely come in a cone.

  7. Ladies Clothes Most ladies that live in India are usually seen in “suits”. Suits are basically just long shirts with pants that go under them, but they don't exactly look like they are t-shirts and pants, they look more like dresses. Most suits are tailored, tailored means that you give someone your body measurements, type of fabric and design you want, then have them sew them.

  8. Men's Clothes Men usually either wear regular shirts and pants or “Korta Pajamas”.Korta pajamas are like suits but with less design and are made for guys. On special occasions, men are also seen wearing suits like they do in America.

  9. Food Indian food has got to be the best type of food in the world because there is something for everyone. For example, if you don't like a certain dish you can try a different one because no one dish is prepared the same way, some have paneer (cheese), while others have cholay (chickpeas).
