  2. BACKGROUND NIMS was established in 2008 by the Vice– Chancellors, Ghana and NCTE; a committee made up of all heads of universities in Ghana, to address the pressing need to support mathematical sciences in Ghana.

  3. To establish state-of-the-art and cutting edge programmes prepare students for further graduate research Advance research in Mathematical Sciences AIM

OBJECTIVES Adopt tried-and-tested programmes of other institutions Prepare the next generation of Mathematicians CREATE A RESEARCH CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE Initiate stronger collaborations between the major Universities in Ghana and other African institutions Organize regular training schools, research workshops and conferences

  5. STRUCTURE Advisory Board NIMS Council Members VC’s of all six public universities, NCTE, GETFund, Ministry of Education, Government Representative NIMS Trust/ Trustees Executive Team (NIMS Management Board) – Representatives from all six public universities Administration Director of NIMS External Activities MAG,GMS,Assoc, Clubs, links with schools Unit Directors ‏ Research Activities Staff Finance Facilities Coordinators
