AccomplishmentsBASA 2010-11 • Membership • 246 members • Added 7 members during school year • Communication • Hosted Superintendent and Board Members at Board of Directors Meetings • Met with Supt and staff twice during year • Addressed School Board on important topics • Participated in 13 member Tampa Bay Coalition • Redesigned BASA logo, website and membership cards • Published 30 updates and action alerts for members • Legislative and Political Action • Participated in FASA’s Legislative Days • Participated in FASA’s Summit to form regions for Administrative Associations • Met with individual legislators • Emailed legislators on important legislation • Served as member of the Classrooms in Crisis Coalition • Professional • Sponsored TOY and recognition of Principals, AP’s • Awarded 8 $500 scholarships to Brevard seniors • Contributed to Food for Thought • Social • Held fall and winter social for members • Held reception for Superintendent • Provided BASA shirts for members

ChallengesBASA 2009-10 • Assist the district and provide leadership as we face the continuing budget crisis • Educate our legislators and the public concerning adequate funding for education • Update and maintain website, send email updates and special newsletters to members • Continue full operation of CCE • Continue to award scholarships for seniors in Brevard, sponsor recognition of outstanding employees and hold social networking opportunities for members • Maintain sound accounting principles for BASA and CCE • Expand opportunities in BASA for retirees • Work to expand membership by recruiting additional members • Work with Tampa Bay Coalition and FASA to establish new regions for administrative associations
