  1. Project Umpqua Electric Vehicle Drive System Team Abdullah Binsaeed Dustin Buscho Steven Arlint • Advisor • Dr. Albright • Industry Representative • Mr. Menig • Freightliner

  2. Overview • Introduction • Scorecard • Plans • Milestones • Issues/Concerns • Conclusions

  3. Introduction • Light electric vehicle drive system • Driver and vehicle weight of approximately 450 lbs. • Commuters will benefit. • Main emphasis on the motor control and feedback • Displays data analogous to cars RPM and fuel gauge

  4. Scorecard (DEC 05 plans) • Test regenerative braking • Full load test the forward drive mode of the motor controller • Construct current sensing system • Program PIC microcontroller to recognize the current sensing system • Complete design review process • (All of this has been completed)

  5. Plans • Finish PIC microcontroller programming for data acquisition • Interface LCD display • Complete Theory of Operations Document • Test regenerative braking under load

  6. Milestones

  7. Concerns/Issues • Main issues: • Safety (real world) • Solutions: • Product testing and documenting results • Using caution when operating with high voltage, high current cases. Gloves, first aid, and a cell phone is always present.

  8. Conclusions • Introduction • Scorecard • Additional Accomplishments • Plans • Issues/Concerns • Conclusions
