  1. How Many? Reviewing addition and teaching division through animals and the food that they eat

  3. Explanation First you will be presented with an addition problem. After completing the problem you will be asked to consider the addition problem when beginning to divide the objects.

  4. 3 + 6 = 9

  5. Considering the previous problem, how many bananas will each monkey get? 6 / 3 = 2

  6. 4 + 12 = 16

  7. Considering the previous problem, how many bones does each dog get? 12 / 4 = 3

  8. Wrap Up Get into groups of two. Each partner must put together an addition and division problem similar to those previously shown. You do not have to use animals. Have your partner work out the problem that you crated. When everyone is finished we will share our answers and reasoning.
