GEC14 Wrap-Up: WiMAX Deployments and Experiments • Deployment issues • Discussions with Clearwire about spectrum use • Introduce Airspan base stations, with Netspan ntwk mgmt system • Add “yellow nodes”, OMF/OML, connect to I2 backbone • Discussions with Sprint about unlocked handsets, MVNO data service • Experimenter support • Rutgers and NYU Poly have been supporting remote experimenters; soon: BBN • Recent tutorials at GEC13, TridentCom 2012 and GEC14 • New for GEC14: small groups work on challenging experiments • Sol 3 site extensions with Airspan base stations: • Goal: on-the-air by end of Spiral 4 • Drexel: base station ordered • UCLA, Wisconsin, Michigan, Wayne State, Temple: base stations arrived, installations pending • Clemson: one base station installed, some issues; two installations pending
