  2. Goals of Today’s Message • That we would “own” this prayer of Paul’s and pray it for ourselves and our community • That we would see answers to this prayer when we pray it

  3. Head Knowledge • Wisdom • The ability to use knowledge for correct behavior • Knowing the reasons, concepts, and correct motivations behind that knowledge • Understanding that manifests itself in correct behavior

  4. Head Knowledge • Revelation • Uncovering, disclosing, revealing • The “Aha” moment • The point where we finally get it! • The point where God’s words are revealed

  5. Head Knowledge • Knowing God – verse 17 • “… so that you may know Him better” • Know • To know God fully • To know God intimately • Not about knowing more things – its about knowing a person

  6. Heart Knowledge • “The eyes of your heart may be enlightened” • Heart – • Our very core • All of our inner self • All of our convictions, feelings, emotions

  7. Heart Knowledge • The hope of the calling of God • The riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints • His surpassing great power toward us who believe

  8. We keep asking that You, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, our Glorious Father, might give us the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, that we might know You fully. We pray also that the eyes of our hearts might be enlightened in order that we may know the hope to which You have called us, that we (the saints) are Your glorious inheritance, and that we might know Your incomparably great power for us.
