The possessive pronouns such as mine, yours, hers, his, its, ours and theirs are not followed by nouns; they come at the end of the sentence Example: That book is mine.
Some possessive pronouns such as my, your, his, her, its, our and their are called possessive adjectives if they are followed by nouns. Examples: Noun: The book is mine Adjective: That is my book.
