  2. Introduction • A USD 260 million credit facility, developed by EBRD for investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy sector • Focus on SME Sector • Launched in July 2010 • Disbursement to date >USD 230 million • Full disbursement expected by fall 2012 What is TURSEFF

Eligible companies are at least 51% privately owned • Eligible companies comply with the EU criteria for SMEs: • Less than 250 employees and • Maximum turnover of EURO 50 million or • Maximum assets of EURO 43 million • Subsidiaries of larger companies are eligible as long as the subsidiary is in compliance with the SME criteria • Housing associations, which are in compliance with the SME criteria are eligible • ESCOs are eligible Who can apply for a TURSEFF loan?

Vendor Loans • To date 24 Vendor Loans • Total value USD 43.5 million • Across various sectors: • HVAC • LED • Insulation • Expected outreach: • > 50,000 individual households • To reach this directly would have required an advertising budget of several million US$ Reaching the maximum number of households even in far-flung regions

TURSEFF Results • First EPC contracts • Commended by the Turkish Energy Minister • > USD 230 disbursed • Energy Saved: Nearly 2.5 million MWh/year in primary energy • Avoided cost of imported oil: Nearly USD 131 million • Annual Carbon Emission Savings: >623,000 tons CO2eq Innovations and achievements

  11. Next Steps • USD 30 million left in total in Vakifbank and Isbank • Akbank to receive another US$ 20 million in October • EBRD announced TURSEFF II – another USD 200 million credit line startin in 2013. TURSEFF II is coming
