  4. Player Eligibility AHSAA Requirements • Athletes must maintain a minimum grade average of 70 • Athletes must have a current physical form signed by a certified physician • Athletes may not play or practice with any other softball team during our season

  5. Player Commitment • Practice Monday – Thursday 3:05 until 5:30 • Games Usually 12-14 and Tournaments 2-3 • Demonstrate good sportsmanship • Maintain good grades • Leave the field/dugout/bus better than you found it • Discuss team concerns with a coach • Be an excellent role model for other students • Be prepared for practice and games • Always perform to the best of your ability • Ride the bus to and from all games

  6. Family Commitment • Ensure that your athlete has all required equipment • Fundraising • Field Work Day(s) • Encourage your player and the team • Transport your athlete to and from tournaments • Concession Stand • Pick your athlete up after each practice and game at the appropriate time

  7. Program Cost 2009 Season Field/Equipment Purchases – $ 1,684.00 Bats, Tees, Practice Balls, Game Balls, Printing , Bases, Wiffle Balls, Tournament Fees, Awards, etc.. Umpires $455.00 Bus Usage $410.00

  8. Tryout Procedures • Students must attend all 4 days of tryouts • All participants should have the following equipment : an appropriate glove, cleats, long sleeved shirt (available), baseball style pants or sweat pants, a ride home by 6:00 PM-daily • Students may change clothes in the girls’ lockeroom • Participants may bring a snack/drink to consume prior to tryouts (these cannot be purchased from the teacher workroom) • Tryouts will begin promptly at 3:15 PM

  9. Skill Evaluations The current skill level of participants will be evaluated daily during the tryout process. These evaluations will be used to identify the student athletes who will fill the Lady Hornets softball roster.

  10. How will the team roster be announced? The 2010 Lady Hornet softball roster will be posted on the school website on Friday, October 16, 2009, by 10:00 o’clock PM. Go to the school website: http://sanford.lcm.schoolinsites.com/ Click on Sports Click on Softball Click on Roster
