Rangi&papa • Rangi and papa were locked in an inseparable embrace. • Rangi and papa has 8 kids. • There kids lived between the bodies of Rangi and Papa. • Rangi and papas kids wonted to kill there parents. God of: Sky father (Rangi) Earth mother(Papa) Kid(s): Tūmatauenga, Tāwhirimātea, Tane, Tangaroa, Ronghauma, Rehua and Ruam. 3

  4. God of: The sea. Kid(s): 1 named Punga. Has 7 brothers. Mum and dad: Rangi andpapa. Tangaroa is one of the great gods. His offspring are the creatures of the sea. Tangaroa is like the controller of the tides. 4

  5. Tane think they shod separate their parents. • Tane has 7 brothers. • Tane has 1 daughter. • God of forest. • The trees Maori names means “load of the forts”. • Tane made the fist man. 5

  6. Tawhirimatea • The god of: storms and winds. • Son of: Rangi and Papa • Kid/s: he has no kids. • Tawhirimatea was angry because Tane was splitting up Rangi and Papa with out asking his brothers. He controls the winds and stomas. 6

  7. Ruaumoko • Ruaumoko is the youngest son of Rangi and papa. • God of volcanoes and seasons. • His movements are considered the cause of earthquakes. • He has never been born and remains inside his mother’s womb. • depending on the time of year the earthquakes cause the warmth.

  8. Rongo • Rango is a major god. • He is a brother of 7 kids. • Grows in the north of NZ. • He is the youngest son. • He is a food god • In Maori traditional times he was the god of taro ,yams ,cord line and gourds. 8
