  1. EMODnet Chemistry 17 Stations 8 offshore monitored seasonally (2x/year – Spring & Autumn) 9 onshore monitored monthly

  2. Collecting water samples EMODnet Chemistry Current Status Parameters in seawater

  3. EMODnet Chemistry Current Status • Pigments: Filter 500-2500 ml seawater with GF Watmann filter 47mm (sent to Ugent-PAE for analyses) • Nutrients: Filter about 500ml seawater with 0.2 um cellulose-acetate filter for residual water for nutrient analysis (sent to Southampton, National Oceanography Centre) • SPM: One liter unfiltered seawater collected.

  4. Collecting water samples EMODnet Chemistry Next steps Parameters in seawater

  5. EMODnet Chemistry Future steps • Additional parameters measured since 2012 • Additional pigment data? Useful? • Data archeology project • Heavy metals • Additional fertilizers

  6. EMODnet Chemistry Difficulties • No Guidelines for choosing parameters? • Different users may choose • Different parameters
