  1. Car auctions can be a great place to grab a bargain, it can also be a great place to sell a car fast with no worries about people wasting your time and hitting you with low ball offers. Tips To Avoid Buying Scrap Car At Auction

  2. Before you go to a car auction to buy why not visit a few times and just watch what is going on and get a feel for the whole auction process Think about the car you want to buy including make and model, do not just bid on anything that looks nice! If the car you had your heart on goes for too much money do not panic buy another car, there will be plenty more of what you want in future auctions Have a budget in mind and do not exceed that budget.

  3. Arrive at the auction early and study the catalogue and maybe create a possible purchase list, research prices, pros and cons of the cars, reviews and common faults. Try to view the cars before they go through the auction “block” Be aware of the buyers premium that has to be paid to the auction house Look for tell tale signs of engine damage- water or oil leaking, excessive smoke or parts dragging along the floor

  4. Get close and listen chances are if there is an issue with the engine you will hear some noises that are not meant to be there Pay on debit card not credit card as credit cards usually charge an additional fee Listen clearly to the auctioneer they will give you all the information you need
