  2. 1 Areas of Responsibility Manifesto Pledges Increase participation in recreational and competitive sport by engaging with relocated Jordanhill students • Act as President of the USSA Sports Union, ensuring its smooth running and promote the profile of the Sports Union. • Convene relevant Sports Union committees, and represent Strathclyde sporting interests to the university and national student sports bodies.  • Coordinate the work of Sports Union committees. • Be responsible for the promotion and awareness raising of relevant health and wellbeing issues. • Organise and coordinate the annual Sports Fair, and other appropriate events throughout the year.  2 Develop and future proof our 45 sports clubs by implementing the Clubmark imitative 3 Grow the Glasgow cup in terms of sports and spectators 4 Making sure healthy student living is a top priority for Union Campaigns Increase student volunteering options in sports Achieve a higher BUCS ranking Get the Sports Union involved in fundraising both for sports and other charities • I am the Chair of: • Sports & Wellbeing Forum • I sit on the following University committees: • Statutory Advisory Committee on Safety and Occupational Health

  3. 1 What I have done so far: 2 • Successfully ran for election to Scottish Student Sport Executive Council. Attended SSS and BUCS AGM’s and conferences, also sat on Scottish Student Sport Elected Students Forum. • Helped 96% of SU clubs achieve Go-Active Club-mark Level. • Ran a successful Sports Fair with record sign ups. • Ran club committee training sessions. • Coordinated Glasgow Taxis Freshers Intervarsity Day and grew it to include CoG College. • Promoted SU to students and have already eclipsed membership target for the year. • Ensured SU had representation at PGDE welcome day. • Engaged with Sport and Physical Activity Academic Department and it’s Students. • I have convened Sports Union General, Executive, Finance, Events, Communications, Hall of Fame and Development Committees. • Attended University SACSOH committee. • Got the University to commit to providing flexibility regarding Wednesday Afternoon Classes. • Coordinated a Sponsorship Competition for SU clubs. • Worked with Sportscotland to organise Reffin’ Brilliant Coaching Courses. • Sat on Centre for Sport and Recreation Advisory Board 3 4

  4. 1 What I am still working on: 2 • Reffin’ Brilliant is an on going project throughout semester 1. • ASIST Suicide Prevention Training and Mental Health First Aid Training. • Preparations for Glasgow Taxis Cup 2013. • Work on 2014 Volunteering Projects with the University. • Engaging with identified elite athletes. • Hall of Fame 2012-13. • Supporting Sports Clubs experiencing increased demand and facility/capacity issues. • Pushing Clubs to work on Interactive Club-Mark Level. • Working with University Well-being Group to co-ordinate the Healthy Body Healthy Mind project 3 4
