  3. Jiangsu Province • Population of 80+ million • One of the richest provinces in China • One of the highest literacy rates in China (94%) • 1.2 million post secondary students • Capital City is Nanjing

  4. Summer Research Program • Minimum of 3 Months • May-August • Scholarship of $3000 • Research Linkage??? • Faculty Supervisor at home university and faculty member in Jiangsu • Agree on research program • Letters from both faculty with application

Statement of research interest Approved by Faculty member at home university OJS will assist student to identify a supervisor in Jiangsu Complete Summer Research Program Application Form http://ojs.ouinternational.ca/ Submit to Home University

  6. Summer Research Program Jiangsu Universities are in Session in May and June Possible to take some courses Work directly with a faculty supervisor as part of a research team Chinese Language Courses also available Credit Transfer is responsibility of Student and Home University

Summer Language, History and Culture Program • Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics • Dates to be deermined • Cost 6000 RMB (approx Cdn$1200 plus 50 RMB (approx Cdn$10)/day accommodation • Basic Mandarin Lessons • Weekend Trips • History, Chinese Martial Arts • Calligraphy, Cookery, Chinese Folk Music • OJS Scholarship of $2000

Intensive Chinese Language For Students with Higher level Mandarin Nanjing Normal University Designed for students wishing to improve their language capabilities Students placed at appropriate level based on testing Complete Summer Language Program Application Note that interest is primarily in language training only Location, dates andcost to be determined OJS Scholarship of $2000

Summer Food Culture Jiangnan University Dates to be determined 9200 RMB (approx (Cdn $1800.) inclusive of accommodation, meals, travel Limited Chinese Language Chinese crafts—calligraphy, ceramics, knitting Chinese culture and history Chinese food, tea and wine culture Field trips OJS Scholarship of $2000

  10. Social Innovation Summer Design School Jiangnan University Dates to be determined Program theme to be determined 6650 RMB (approx Cdn$1400.00). Fees including accommodation, lunch, airport transportation, local travel, lecture fees, materials,etc. OJS Scholarship of $2000

  11. China Studies Program Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Dates to be determined Cost 20,000 RMB (approx Cdn$4000.00) Inclusive of travel in China, meals, and accommodation Program To de determined OJS Scholarship of $2000
