  4. Survival Document: THE MATRIX • Posted in announcements every Monday. • Should be kept in their matrix document protector • Filed in “important” section of accordian. • Lightly shaded in as items are completed. • Please have them show you completed items.

  8. Check-in Tips: #1 • Set a routine • Start stronger in beginning of year

  9. Check-in Tips: #2 • Motivate self-directed behavior: Don't explain or do! Get them to problem solve! • Ask child what he thinks What does it say to do? Where can you go for screencasts?

  14. Blackboard Basics: Submitting Assignments 1. Navigate course using course menu buttons on left: unit, lesson title, and assignment title. 2. Complete lesson/task 3. Type in submission or browse computer to attach file 4.   15. Blackboard Basics: Submitting Journals 1. Navigate course using course menu buttons on left: unit, lesson title, and journal title. 2. Complete lesson/task 3. Write in word or Google Docs as a precaution 4. Click Create Journal Entry 5. LearnZillion: Math Lessons • Math notebook: formatted notes for every video lesson (print copy pasted in front of notebook, modeled, guided practice with students) • Problems on paper and/or Edmodo • Please check to make sure assignments are complete! • Click on the link to play this screencast on how to check on your child's Learn Zillion account.

Check every end of day Monday with student: -No late assignments accepted after end of day Tuesday from the previous week 4. Grading Scale: ME=Meets w/ Excellence MP=Meets w/ Proficiency DP=Developing Proficiency WB=Well Below

  21. What Engrade Looks Like: Average of all scores will be posted at the top of the page. Assignments are put in by the week of the quarter so it’s easy to find. 0=Missing assignment or that assignment needs to be redone Blank spaces mean either not graded yet or excused from the assignment I will accept corrections on all grades except for tests taken online. (no deadline on corrections... I believe in learning from our mistakes!) s

Please check daily!!! This is the main way I will communicate information to you.

Global Cardboard Challenge (Oct 5th Library) 4. RWS (Reader’s Workshop Book Reports & Student created projects). One per quarter. 5. DIY.org-online scouting with badges for those who need extensions/extras 6. Parents have any other interesting ideas, skills, or talents you wish to share? Let me know!
