OBJECTIVES FOR MULTIANNUAL PROGRAMMES • Awareness • to increase gathering information and gaining intelligence; • to increase identification process of persons intercepted during maritime activities; Response • to strengthen surveillance and border control aiming to detect more migrants and facilitators • to further develop platforms for effective border security and flexible deployment in a long-term perspective;

RETURN ACTIVITIES 2010 – MAIN OBJECTIVES • to extend pre-return assistance to MS in the fields of identification and acquisition of travel documents • to continue assisting in JRO, further developing the capacity and encourage MS to take proactively a leading role in JRO • to increase common understanding of respecting fundamental human rights during operational activities • to develop procedures for chartering aircrafts by Frontex • to further develop thebest practice documents with focus on forced-return monitoring system
