PROVINCIAL MEDICAL DIRECTOR<br>uf071tThe PMD was said to be out of the Province at the time of courtesy call.<br>uf071tThe team was welcomed by the Secretary of the Provincial Medical Director who said that the Province was ready to support the National Community Monitoring Team to achieve the objectives of the visit.<br>uf071tThe team promised to pay an exit visit on the 23rd November 2018 to the PMDu2019s office to share notes , good practices ,challenges and problems experienced by health institutions, staff and consumers of ART Services.<br>uf071tThe team was given the green light to proceed with the exercise .<br>PROVINCIAL MANAGER (NATIONAL AIDS COUNCIL-NAC)<br>He welcomed the National Community Monitoring Team to the Province.<br>1.tHe expressed gratitude to the visit ,which he said was a blessing as it will also be one of the prelaunch activities to the National World AIDS Day to be hosted by the Province on 1 December,2018.<br>2.tHe highlighted some critical intervention areas in the Province which he said were:<br>3.tThe struggle to end child sexual abuses under the guise of early childhood marriages which he said were rife and on the increase in the Province.<br>4.tCases of gender based violence<br>5.tCases of multi concurrent relationships and partners.<br>6.tA significant rise in the number of men having sex with men (MSM) and artisanal miners (Makorokoza) seeking Sexual Reproductive health services at the Provinceu2019s Health Centres .<br>7.tThe Provincial Manager said that the Province was the first in the country to decentralise ART Services and as of today it is rolling out ART Programs in 145 sites in the Province.<br>8.tHe also said that his office enjoy a cordial relationship with the PMDu2019s Department leading to sharing of ideas and brain storming on the creation of an ART census in order to harmonise statistics so that the ordering of medicines ,such as ARVs is done in line with the current number of people on treatment.<br>9.tHe said that ,the two departments work in harmony no wonder u201c that we have Ms Moreni Masanzu ,a Person Living with HIV (PLHIV) as the Deputy in the Provincial AIDS Committee(PAC)u201d.<br>10.tHe also said that MIPA has decentralised to Wards in the Province. u201cThis is not only preaching but this can be authenticated on the groundu201d<br>11.tThe National Community Monitoring will make recommendations to the National MIPA Forum to have a look into the Mashonaland MIPA model ,so as to come up with a template or adopt and replicate the model nationally.<br>12.tHe said that CARGs and CATs are on the ground u201c This is factual as this is evidenced by minutes and records of meetings of these synonymous ART refill Groupsu201d.<br> MINISTER OF STATE FOR PROVINCIAL AFFAIRS <br>The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs was said to be out of the Province at the time of courtesy call.<br>uf071tIn his stead was the Director in the Ministry who was briefed on the objectives of the Community Monitoring Exercise .<br>uf071tIt was noted that by the team that it was not possible to visit each and every District in the Province hence the selection of the health sites to be visited will only sample and capture the peri urban and the hard to reach areas from the Provincial Capital.<br>uf071tThe Director was full of praise and optimistic that the Community Monitoring Team will u201c fly the Provinceu2019s flag high.u201d<br>uf071tHowever he expressed displeasure to the Provincial Organizing Team for World AIDS Day for not inviting his the Ministry of State Provincial Affairs in its planning meetings.<br>uf071tOn a departing note he said the Ministry will be in attendance in the decisive Local Organising Committee meetings with one scheduled for Monday 26th November.2018 in Bindura.<br>

OBJECTIVES • Assess the level of implementation of OI & ART Services • To assess the availability of ARVs in the OI & ART Clinics • To discuss with OI & ART Clients the quality services they get from OI & ART Clinics and challenges • To assess the state of OI key equipment, CD4 Cell counting machines, viral load machines, hematology machines ,etc.
