  3. Ufur • Tegafur 100 mg, uracil 224 mg • Indication: • Remission of subjective & objective symptoms in gastric, colorectal & breast cancers. • Dosage: • 300-600 mg as tegafur daily in 2-3 divided doses. Uterine cervical cancer 600 mg as tegafur daily in 2-3 divided doses

  4. Ufur • Administration • Should be taken on an empty stomach (Take at least 1 hr before or 1 hr after meals.). • Special Precautions • Monitor hematological, hepatic & renal functions. Dehydration & severe enteritis. Abdominal pain or diarrhea (discontinue use). Manifestation or aggravation of infections or bleeding tendencies. Varicella, abnormal glucose tolerance. Elderly. Pregnancy & lactation. Children

  6. Xeloda • Capecitabine • Indications • Breast Cancer • Colorectal Cancer • Gastric Cancer

Xeloda • Dosage • Monotherapy or in combination w/ docetaxel: 2,500 mg/m2/day in 2 divided doses orally for 2 wk followed by 1-wk rest period given as 3-wk cycles. • In combination w/ cisplatin: 2,000 mg/m2/day in 2 divided doses for 2 wk followed by 1-wk rest period given as 3-wk cycles. • In combination w/ oxaliplatin &/or bevacizumab: 2,000 mg/m2/day in 2 divided doses for 2 wk followed by 1-wk rest period given as 3-wk cycle. • Administration • Should be taken with food (Take within 1/2 hr after meals.).

  8. Xeloda • Adverse Drug Reactions • Hand & foot syndrome, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomatitis • Drug Interactions • Antacid, sorivudine & analogues, anticoagulants (warfarin), phenytoin,  leucovorin, folic acid.

  9. หลักการให้ยา oral chemotherapy • Oral route • การให้ยาทางปากเป็นวิธีที่สะดวกมาก • มีข้อจำกัดบางประการ เช่น • การดูดซึมมากน้อยต่างกัน • ยาบางส่วนถูกย่อยสลายในลำไส้ • ยาบางชนิดระคายระบบทางเดินอาหาร • ถ้าให้ขนาดสูงอาจมีปัญหาด้านคลื่นไส้ อาเจียน ปวดท้อง • ปัจจุบันนิยมใช้กับยาที่ต้องให้เป็นเวลานานเพื่อควบคุมโรคขณะที่โรคสงบ หรือใช้ร่วมกับการให้ยาอื่นที่ให้ด้วยวิธีแตกต่างกันออกไป

  10. หลักการให้ยา oral chemotherapy • How to take the drug • Swallow each tablet or capsule whole; do not chew them. • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose • How long will I need to use oral chemotherapy? • Chemo is often given in cycles

  12. หลักการให้ยา oral chemotherapy • Safe management of oral chemotherapy in the home • avoid exposure to hazardous body waste in your home • Storage • Most oral chemotherapy medicine is stored at room temperature, away from excessive heat and moisture • Keep this medicine in its original container, in a safe place, away from other family medications. All medications need to be kept out of the reach of children or pets
